Rumusnya sama: jumlah (bobot nilai × SKS) ÷ total SKS.

Bobot nilai yang umum dipakai

Nilai hurufBobot
A4
AB3,5
B3
BC2,5
C2
D1
E0

Sebagian kampus memakai bobot berbeda, misalnya A− atau B+.

Contoh menghitung IPS

Mata kuliahSKSNilaiBobot × SKS
Kalkulus I3A12
Pengantar Ekonomi3AB10,5
Pendidikan Pancasila2B6
Fisika Dasar3BC7,5
Praktikum1A4
Total1240

IPS = 40 ÷ 12 ≈ 3,33.

Langkah menghitung di kalkulator

  1. Buka Kalkulator IPK & Nilai dan pilih tab IPK / IPS.
  2. Klik Tambah mata kuliah untuk setiap mata kuliah, lalu isi nama, SKS, dan Nilai.
  3. Periksa Skala nilai. Pilih Atur sendiri bila bobot di kampus Anda berbeda.
  4. Untuk IPK kumulatif, isi IPK sebelumnya (opsional): IPK kumulatif lama dan total SKS lama.

Menghitung nilai UAS minimal

  2. Isi Bobot UAS, misalnya 40%, dan Target nilai akhir, misalnya 75.
  3. Nilai UAS minimal langsung muncul.

Rumusnya: (target − jumlah nilai lain × bobotnya) ÷ bobot UAS.

At the end of every semester, Indonesian university students want to know two things: their semester GPA (IPS) and how it affects their cumulative GPA (IPK). Before exams the question changes: what is the minimum final exam score needed to reach a target grade?

All of this can be worked out with the GPA & Grade Calculator on KASKOW. Your grade data is saved only in your browser and never uploaded to a server.

Semester GPA and cumulative GPA

  • Semester GPA (IPS) covers the courses of a single semester only.
  • Cumulative GPA (IPK) covers every semester completed so far.

The formula is the same: sum of (grade points × credits) ÷ total credits. In Indonesia, credits are called SKS.

Commonly used grade points

AB3.5
B3
BC2.5

Some universities use different weights, such as A− or B+. Adjust the Grading scale in the calculator to your university's academic guidelines.

Example: calculating a semester GPA

CourseCreditsGradePoints × credits
Calculus I3A12
Intro to Economics3AB10.5
Civic Education2B6
Basic Physics3BC7.5
Lab work1A4
Total1240

Semester GPA = 40 ÷ 12 ≈ 3.33.

Steps in the calculator

  1. Open the GPA & Grade Calculator and choose the GPA tab.
  2. Click Add a course for each course, then enter the name, Credits and Grade.
  3. Check the Grading scale. Choose Custom if your university uses different weights.
  4. For a cumulative GPA, fill in Previous GPA (optional): your previous cumulative GPA and previous total credits.
  5. This semester's GPA, Cumulative GPA and Graduation honours appear right away.

Continuing the example: with a previous GPA of 3.20 over 40 credits, the new cumulative GPA = (3.20 × 40 + 40) ÷ (40 + 12) = 168 ÷ 52 ≈ 3.23.

Tips

Your course list is saved in this browser, so you can reopen it next semester. The data does not move to other devices and can be lost if browser data is cleared.

Graduation honours

For bachelor's degrees in Indonesia, the common levels are satisfactory (2.76–3.00), very satisfactory (3.01–3.50) and with honours or cum laude (above 3.50), usually with a study-length requirement. Rules vary between universities, so check your university's official academic guidelines.

Calculating the minimum final exam score

The Final exam target tab answers "what do I need on the final?":

  1. Fill in Scores so far, for example Assignments 80 at 30% and Midterm 70 at 30%.
  2. Enter the Final exam weight, for example 40%, and the Target final score, for example 75.
  3. The Minimum final exam score appears right away.

The formula is: (target − sum of other scores × their weights) ÷ final exam weight. In this example, (75 − 24 − 21) ÷ 0.4 = 75. If the target can't be reached even with 100 on the final, the calculator tells you.

Weighted average grade

The Weighted average tab suits a single course's final grade or a school report. Click Add a component, then enter each weight and score. For example, assignments 85 (40%) and an exam 70 (60%) give 34 + 42 = 76.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my result slightly different from my university's system? Usually because of different grade weights, rounding or repeated courses. Follow the official figures from your university's academic system.

How are repeated courses counted? The rules differ between universities. Usually the latest or highest grade counts; enter that course once with the grade that applies.

Can I use it for school grades? Yes. Use Weighted average for report cards or exams with set weights.

Need a percentage or a simple average? Use the Calculator & Percentage, which also has a Statistics tab.
