Checklist keamanan sebelum mengizinkan akses komputer jarak jauhSecurity checklist before allowing remote access to a computer
Remote access is very useful, but scammers misuse it too. Use this checklist to stay safe, whether you own the computer or are the one connecting.

Jika Anda pemilik komputer
Sebelum mengizinkan siapa pun:
- [ ] Saya tahu cara memutus sambungan kapan saja.
- [ ] Saya mengganti password akses.
- [ ] Saya memakai akun saya sendiri, bukan akun bersama.
- [ ] Saya memutus sesi setelah selesai.
Praktik password yang baik
| Lakukan | Hindari |
|---|---|
Remote access is a legitimate and very useful tool. But because it gives full control of a computer, scammers use it too: phoning while claiming to be from a bank or tech support, then asking the victim to install an app and read out the code.
This checklist helps you stay safe.
If you own the computer
Before allowing anyone:
- [ ] I know the person and I contacted them, not the other way round.
- [ ] I know exactly what this access is requested for.
- [ ] I am not being rushed ("it must be now or your account is blocked").
- [ ] They are not asking for bank accounts, cards or OTP codes.
During the session:
- [ ] I watch the screen and follow what is being done.
- [ ] I know how to disconnect at any time.
- [ ] I do not open internet banking or sensitive apps during the session.
Afterwards:
- [ ] I disconnect and close the app if it is no longer needed.
- [ ] I change the access password.
- [ ] If something felt off, I change important account passwords from another device.
No bank, marketplace, courier or official agency asks you to install a remote app and read its ID and password over the phone. If that happens, end the conversation.
If you are the one connecting to another computer
- [ ] I have the owner's permission.
- [ ] I use my own account, not a shared one.
- [ ] I connect from a device I trust, not a public computer.
- [ ] I do not keep the owner's password in notes others can easily read.
- [ ] I disconnect when finished.
Good password practice
| Do | Avoid |
|---|---|
| A unique, long access password | Reusing another account's password |
| Changing it regularly | Keeping the same password for years |
| Sharing it through a safe channel | Sending it in a busy group chat |
| Revoking access when unused | Leaving the app open forever |
Signs of an unauthorized session
- The cursor moves by itself when you invited no one
- Windows or settings open without your action
- A remote app appears on your computer that you did not install
If this happens, disconnect that computer from the internet, close the app, change important account passwords from another device, and report any suspicious transactions.
Choose a transparent tool
Pick an app that shows who is connected and makes it easy to disconnect. In KASKOW Remote, the computer owner can see who is connected and disconnect at any time; this is explained in warnings when downloading and the usage guide.
