Anda hanya perlu tahu cara membacanya.

Empat pertanyaan sebelum kulakan

  1. Apakah ada yang mencari? Permintaan pasar.

Harga saling bantingMargin tipis, hati-hati

3. Perkirakan perputaran uang

  • Menganggap satu produk laris berarti seluruh kategorinya mudah.

The costliest mistake for a new seller is not a bad photo or title. The costliest mistake is stocking a product that does not sell. Capital gets stuck, the storeroom fills up, and motivation drops.

The good news is that most of the answers are already on the marketplace. You just need to know how to read them.

Four questions before you stock

  1. Is anyone searching for it? Market demand.
  2. Who already sells it, and how strong are they? Competition.
  3. How much money moves here? Revenue potential.
  4. Can I still make a profit? Price, costs and margin.

1. Check demand through keywords

Search with the words buyers type, not your own jargon. Notice:

  • Do many products appear and do many sell?
  • Do products on the first page have high sold counts, or is it only one or two standouts?
  • Are there word variants buyers commonly use?

Note: labels like "1K+ sold" hide the gap. A product with 1,100 sold and one with 9,500 both show "1K+".

2. Look at competition

Questions to answer:

SignWhat it means
Sales spread across many shopsOpen market, a new seller still has a chance
One or two shops dominateMarket is controlled, you need a strong differentiator
Many ads at the topFierce competition for attention
Prices undercutting each otherThin margins, be careful

3. Estimate how much money moves

Rough revenue of a product can be estimated as price times units sold. Looking at the 30-day figure is more useful than all-time, because an old product can look popular while already quiet.

Tips

Compare the last 30 days of sales against the total. If nearly all sales happened in the last 30 days, the product is rising. If it is tiny, the product may be past its peak.

4. Work out whether it is still profitable

Do not look only at the gap between buying and selling price. Include the costs that cut revenue: admin and service fees, shipping you cover, ad spend, packaging and returns. See also how to calculate net profit selling on Shopee.

Common mistakes

  • Following a viral product without checking whether it is still rising or already falling.
  • Assuming one best-seller means the whole category is easy.
  • Ignoring competitors' stock: thin stock can mean opportunity, or a sign the goods are hard to source.
  • Deciding from a single search.

Speeding up research

Recording all those numbers manually for dozens of products takes hours. That is why sellers who research regularly use tools that summarize estimated revenue, stock and ad products in one table. KASKOW Shopee Scraper is built for that, and its three research methods are covered here.

Note

Revenue figures from any tool are estimates, not official shop data. Use them as relative comparisons and a direction for decisions, not exact numbers.
