Making a WiFi QR code
- Open the QR Code Generator and choose the WiFi type.
- Enter the Network name (SSID) exactly as it appears on your phone, including upper and lower case.
- Enter the Password, then choose the Security: WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for most modern routers, WEP for older routers, or No password for an open network.
- Turn on Hidden network only if your network name really is hidden.

Making a WhatsApp QR code with a pre-filled message
- Choose the WhatsApp type.
- Enter the WhatsApp number. Numbers starting with 0 are converted to country code 62 automatically, so you can type 0812… as it is.
- Fill in the Pre-filled message (optional), such as "Hi, I'd like to order…" or "Is this product in stock?". When scanned, the chat opens with that message already typed.
- Scan it once with your phone to make sure the chat opens to the right number.

Adding a logo and colors

When you use a logo, Error correction switches to H automatically. At this level about 30% of the code can be covered or damaged and it still reads, so a centre logo doesn't get in the way. If the page shows a low-contrast warning, change the colors before downloading.
Downloading and printing
- Download PNG at 512, 1024 or 2048 px for chats, social media and documents.
- SVG is the safest choice for print because it stays sharp at any size, from small stickers to banners.
- JPG only when the destination app doesn't accept PNG; JPG doesn't support a transparent background.
- Copy image to paste the code straight into a document or design.
As a general guideline, print the code at least about 2 × 2 cm for scanning up close. For scanning from a distance, make it roughly one tenth of the scanning distance, for example 20 cm for 2 metres.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire? No. The contents are stored directly in the image, so the code can be scanned with no time limit and no scan limit. The flip side is that if your WiFi password or WhatsApp number changes, you need to make and print a new code.
Why is my QR code hard to scan? The most common causes are low contrast, a margin that is too narrow, a print size that is too small, or a logo that is too large. Shrink the logo and use dark dots on a light background.
Can I make QR codes for links, contacts or email? Yes. Choose the Link, Contact, Email, Phone, SMS or Text type in the same way.
